Icelandic Facial Sauna - Professional Way To Skin Beauty
The steam machine is part of the equipment used in professional beauty treatments. Gentle puffs of steam are directed at your face, opening pores and causing you to perspire, thus releasing dirt and trapped toxins and debris from the skin. You shouldn't have a steam treatment - either professionally or at home - if you have broken veins, hyper-sensitive skin, or inflammation of any sort including sunburn.
Facial Skin Steam Treaments
Steam treatments are extremely easy to do at home - all you need is a bowl of boiling water and a towel. Put your chosen essential oils on the surface of the water and cover your head with the towel, making sure that the sides are closed. You'll need to come up for air every so often, but basically plan to be under the towel for about five minutes.
This method is extremely helpful for all kinds of seborrhoea and acne problem skins, as well as being regenerating for the more mature type of skin. For normal skins, a facial sauna can often increase tonality and improve the texture of the skin. These are the best essemtial oils to use for the four skin types:
NORMAL SKIN (Use 2 drops on a bowl of steaming water)
Fennel
Lemon
Lavender
Neroli
DRY SKIN (Use 2 drops on a bowl of steaming water)
Chamomile Roman
Chamomile German
Rose
Palma rose
Bois de rose
SEBORRHOEA SKIN (Use 2 drops on a bowl of steaming water)
Clary-sage
Thyme linalol
Juniper
Grapefruit
ACNE SKIN (Use 2 drops on a bowl of steaming water)
Clary-sage
Thyme linalol
Lavender
Chamomile Roman
Chamomile German
Follow the steam treatment by splashing the face with lots of cold water.
All skins benefit in terms of their tone by the ice treatment: freeze water in a polystyrene cup and then cut the sides of the cup down by about an inch. Use this to massage in upward movements over the face. Finish the treatment by using one of the facial oils to suit your skin type.
